Cookie Policy

This website sets no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies and no third-party cookies. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. This page explains what that means and what little is actually stored.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so that it can recognise the browser later. Most sites use them to follow visitors between pages, and many use them to follow visitors between websites entirely. We do neither.

What this site stores

Only two things, and only when they are needed:

• —A language preference. If you choose to read the site in French or Italian, your browser remembers that choice so the site opens in the language you picked. It contains a language code and nothing else.
• —A session for administrators. If someone signs in to manage the site, the usual WordPress sign-in cookies are set for them. These never apply to a visitor.

How we count visitors without cookies

We do want to know how many people read the site and which pages hold their attention. We measure that with software that runs on our own server rather than a third-party service.

It sets no cookie. It does not store your IP address in a form that identifies you, and the internal reference it uses to tell one visit from another is regenerated every day, which means it cannot follow anyone from one day to the next. Nothing is sent to Google, to an advertising network, or outside our own hosting.

This is why you are not being asked to accept anything. Under Monaco and European rules, consent is required for storing or reading information on your device for analytics or advertising. We do not do either.

The enquiry form

The private enquiry form protects itself against automated abuse using a hidden field and a simple timing check, both of which live in the page itself for the moment you are on it. Nothing is written to your device, and nothing survives after you leave the page.

Content from elsewhere

Pages that link to a partner or to Instagram send you to that site when you click. Once you are there, that company’s own cookie practices apply, and you should read their policy rather than ours. We do not embed third-party players, feeds or advertising, so nothing loads from another company while you are on this site.

If you would rather store nothing at all

Every browser lets you refuse or delete cookies from its settings. Refusing them here will not break anything: the only consequence is that the site will not remember which language you chose, and will open in its default language each time.

Changes

If we ever add something that does set a cookie, this page will say so before it happens, and a consent choice will appear alongside it.
